Two days ago I was fishing and I caught a Neogobius melanostomus, Round goby.
I was fishing off a pier in Lake Michigan.
I took my "little Cleo" and set it on a rock in about 18 feet of water. Immediately a dozen or more gobies swam over to my lure. Then on of the bigger gobies bit the bare hook. "Fish on"! I pulled it up and removed the hook from a 7.5" Round Goby. I read that they are not supposed to be in the Great Lakes and that some ship opened its bassel to empty water and the gobies swam out. They are very aggressive, at least in feeding.
I wonder how they would do in my brackish tank.
