OMG! WTF happened to my gourami!?

I've had this fish for over a year now and he's survived all my messups as a beginning aquarist. He was fine yesterday and now I come home to find this!
Could it be tail rot after one day? I pay pretty close attention to my tank and I think I would have noticed tail rot.

that looks like some pretty serious tail rot if thats what it is. Could it have something to do with other fish picking on it ?? or maybe the suction on your filter? what are the water params?
 
Size of tank: 55gal
Tankmates: 5 Giant Danios, 5 black widow tetras, 2 black mollies, 2 gouramis, 1 red tailed shark, 1 chinese algae eater, and 1 pictus cat. The only ones big enough to do that kind of damage would be the CAE and cat.
Water tests: Working on it.
Filtration: 1 Millenium 3000
