In a recent issue of tropical fish hobbyist (febuary 2005) in the Q and A section, they suggest an 11 year old girl keep 1 cory cat, 4 neon tetras, a betta, and 3 zebra danios in a 5 gallon... Isnt this a bit much? And im positive they arent suggesting one or the other, they are saying all of them would go into a 5 gallon with eachother.....

I agree. Im just miffed that a large magazine would suggest that... In the very same issue they have 8 fool proof community tank stocking schemes", adn they are all very conservative, and understocked.

I'mglad that I wasn't the only one questioning that article. It seemed like ovwerstocking to me

It is not impossible but is it humane, that is the question.

No, definitely not just you. Maybe there was a typo and they meant 15g. Of course, that doesn't explain the fact that they suggest one lone corydoras which is obviously a schooling fish, or their less than adequate numbers of tetras and danios

Stuff like that happens! Tetra has pulled a few stunts like that iirc.

15 doesnt' seem like too bad of a tank size for those fishes. Hopefully, it was just a typo.

BUt I'd not recommend keeping only one cory alone, since they are quite gregarious and like to be in groups.

Maybe they meant 50 gallons, and forgot to add a zero to the 1, so they meant 10 cories... hmm.
