Update on Failed 30G Planted Tank

Thanks to plantbrain (Tom Barr) and djlen that helped me on my 30G planted tank, I have thwarted off the dreaded algae that was consuming my tank. I have not seen any new aglae growth at all and the plants are starting to give me new sprouts. The snails and 5 SAE are taking care of it all. Not to mention bringing my water levels to where they should be helped alot, if not being most important.

Thanks so very much. I can now enjoy my tank with out being disgusted at all the algae growing everywhere.

Just one question. I did add a power head to the tank because the right side of the tank had little to no movement (this because I decreased the flow of my filter by 1/2). The string algae grew only on the right side of the tank, not the left. Could the extra flow help fight the new growth of string algae since it could not have a chance to attach itself to anything? Or am I insane?

The current is not high, just like you said in the begining. I just added the power head to create flow because I noticed it was not moving (the right side of the tank).

THings are looking good.

I will post pics soon once I find my camera again.

Also, there is no algae to remove, at least yet. Before I have to remove daily. Now I cant find any. I am so happy.
