Biggest disappointment--ie, the one thing you really wanted that ended up not working out well--equipment, and another for animals.

How about coolest links? Or even coolest forum (we would win hands down) lol j/k on the last one... It would be cool to have a "sticky" that listed cool sites for lights (hellolights our sponsor you are awesome) but other than the ones with banners....how about your LFS name location etc. Just off the top of my head :dive2: Or me favorite: the worst day you had will tank keeping

How about a list of things that noone tells you that everyone else assumes you know....Like these I have come across.....
When I first started mixing water for water changes I knew my RO water from my well had a PH of 7.3 & that it had no salinity to it.....After reading the directions over & over on the bag I couldn't decide if I should add the Proper PH 8.2 first & the salt second or the other way around...
When I needed to add water from evaporation I would mix the salt to a lower salinity & add Proper ph 8.2 & was suprised how little I needed.......I bought an electronic in-water PH monitor & when making the next batch I knew I had a batch that I had only added salt but no PH 8.2 in it yet...I decided to put the meter probe in the water & instead of counting scoops I would watch the ph rise from 7.3 to 8.25 I was shocked when I tested the water & without adding 8.2 the salt mixed into the water had already altered the Ph to 8.25....
I was further confused when I had a batch mixed as 9.5 (without salt) to monitor & drip into the tank & raise the ph slightly....When I added salt it LOWERED the ph back to 8.25....What happened to the high PH??? If I had started with mixed salt water & added the Proper PH 8.2 wouldn't it raise the ph higher???? Noone tells you this
Here's another one....I have a Pipefish & a Mandarin in the same tank....The Pipefish eats brine shrimp & the mandarin eats pods....I have pods reproducing in the fuge & an auto brine shrimp feeder in the tank.....Imagine my horror when I read on a website that brine shrimp eat pods!!!!!.....When I called the company I was relieved to hear that mandarins also eat brine shrimp...WHEW!!!!>>>>
OK, all that is good, but I have to complicate it by wondering if when pods & brine shrimp are in the water column don't they get sucked into the sponge filters??? What about the Protein Skimmer???? and OMG....The UV light will make them all sterile & the pods will never reproduce & I'll be doomed to buying 4 bottles of pods @ $60 a pop forever!!!! ....Noone tells you this either
