Has anyone ever fed there apple snail by hand; recently I was feeding my fish and by coenciedence my snail was getting a breath of fresh air on the top. Some how he sensed the freeze dried blood worms in the water and tried to lean back and get some but he coudnt lean back far enough. Any ways I held a blood worm in between my fingers and held it near his mouth. He pulled it in with his tongue and waited for another. Now whenever its feeding time he comes to the top.

I will try to get video up soon

Yes and it was the neatest thing ever! I was feeding my frogs (frozen bloodworms with a small syringe) and the snail came by so I thought..."Hmm. Why not?" I put the syringe up to the snails mouth and he slurped them out like a baby for several minutes! I thought it was a blast. I need some more snails now. I forgot how cool they were.

I have fed mine by hand several times. They can be very run down after laying eggs and will often hang out near the water surface for days at a time. I drop bits of lettuce in their mouth while they relax.
I think it is really funny when they walk upside down on the water and find some freeze dried bloodworms floating and attempt to grab the worms. It usually ends up with them breaking the surface tension of the water and taking the express elevator down. :D
