I recently started noticing tiny tiny snails all over my tank. They are pretty much round, but only about half the size of a BB. Very tiny little guys. Will they grow into full size snails, or do they stay tiny like those tiny star fish I have now too? I've also started seeing limpets( i think, flat little snail things?) in my tank all over, do they get big?

Look similar to any adult snails in the tank? Not too many round snails common to a SW setup--many that have cone shapes of varying size--cerith reproduce very readily in my reef. Start out tiny, but eventually make it up to adult size.

Limpets--ditto to any adults in the tank. Most get to about the size of a quarter in my tank. The limpets I've had weren't flat--they have a very pointed top, hard shell. You can see little whiskers from the front, and a mouth similar to a snails. There are also stomatella, which have just a small chunk of shell they usually keep covered or a thick plate like chunk on top. I've never had them reproduce though--just seen the random 4-5 that came in on the live rock.

The snails I've seen look round, but maybe because they are soooo tiny. They could be a bit more of a cone I guess, hard to see. And what I thought were limpets are limpets I believe, going by some of the photos I've seen online. Thanks Oriongirl.
