Anyone else in South Florida? Hubby & I were out driving around last weekend, and we passed by a store with a very familliar logo. I said to Hubby that I didn't think there were any Big Al's stores in the US. How did I not know this was here? Well it seems it's the first in the US & it just opened. It's in Tamarac, which isn't too far from me. I'm going to go check it out this weekend. Think there's any chance the prices will be as good as the website? http://www.bigalsusa.com/store_locations/Florida/floridamain.htm

Its HUGE! Damm the ones in Canada are so small.

UUgghhhh!

Dude do you ever research before you post?

The florida store is 180000 square feet but that is including storeage the store is actually 15000 square feet

The one in Oakville is 14000 square feet. That's only 4000 less total than Florida.
Mississauga is 11000 square feet.

There are a couple of other ones that are 9000 and 10000 square feet.

The small ones you refer to are York, New Market, and Whitby. All the other stores are huge compared to them.

I had no idea that BA's stores weren't common in the states - whenever I go, I leave with my purchases in a bag that says 'Direct from our Florida farms', so just assumed (and that'll show me where assuming gets me!) that they had retail stores all over the US.
There's a lot I really like about BA's, one of which is the size of the stores (my 'local' BA's is one of the larger locations, in Scarborough, about an hour away by public transit, and well worth it) - they have just about everything you could ever need in stock, and more in the back! Between PJ's Pet Centre (where I work) and BA's, I can find anything I need :)

That's pretty cool looking, but I hope that we don't get any around here. We have several non-chain LFS that are great and I'd hate to see them have to deal w/ more chain store pressure.
