I just found that I have got trochus snail babies!! I am so happy. They are like the best snails to get and I recon everyone should get some, they rock. The best part is that I can trade them in to my lfs and get credit!! How often do they breed??

Back before he started IPSF, Gerald Helsinga did some pioneering work on Trochus aquaculture. There's a very good writeup out there, but I can't find it this morning. Getting them to breed isn't that difficult, I guess, but you have to keep the planktonic larvae (aka veligers) suspended for several days before they settle out as little snails.

Meetings all morning, but I'll try to track the article down.

http://www.fish.wa.gov.au/aqua/broc/aqwa/trocus/--google trochus, and there are several articles from different sources on breeding trochus snails.
