My friend has a SW tank at work
this fish is a resident in the tank
but no one knows what it is?
Can anyone help id the fish?

Not sure actually, just guessing but it looks similar to one of the various pinfish used for bait here in Florida waters, maybe the pigfish family or some Pacific variation:

I believe it's a blue spot rabbit fish, also called a spine-foot.

I'm with matter on this one, or at least some species of rabbitfish.

Ahh yes, a rabbitfish... if you ever need to catch it, watch out for the venomous spine.

sorry this is off topic...
but how big is your pictus now Kabong?
ive seen the same picture of your little pictus since i first got on (right after i got rid of my pictus, the neon tetra monster... those little guyes were practically shivering everytime i turned off the light!)
