I've got three Atyopsis moluccensis, and recently moved them from their 10g into my Southeast Asian tank so I could use the 10g as a QT again (the shrimp were originally quarantined in this tank, and after I realized they might do better living without fish it became their home).
Since the move, they've turned a bright cherry red - I'm hoping this is a good sign, or possibly diet related (they get brine shrimp, daphnia, and crushed up freeze dried krill as well as flakes). Just wondering if anyone can confirm that this is a good thing, or at least nothing bad :)

The red color is supposed to be a good thing. The largest males in my Singapore tank are the only ones consistantly that color, but I have had large females show the same color. The younger/smaller ones (either sex) rarely show that much color. They have sharper contrast/brighter "white" lines sometimes, but not often the (what I consider) dominant orange to red except right after a molt.

Live daphnia seem to help support the brighter colors for me, but I confess to being lazy lately.

I have one in a community tank; the red color comes and goes. It's been that way since its purchase 5 1/2 months ago.
I actually haven't noticed any correlation with food type and the display of the red/orange color in mine.

Interesting, thanks for the replies :)
I was hoping it was a good sign, they seem happy but you never know - I thought there was a chance it might be something like a stress response. Glad to know it's nothing bad :D
