I have had a 29 gal tank setup and stable for about 2 years, all happy fish, regular maintence kept everything going along just smoothly no illnesses nothing, never had the first problem this tank.
Until yesterday, I noticed a barb dead at the bottom and thought old age. Tried to fish him with a dip net too large and stirred up the plants trying to get to him and saw another dead fish, and then another, and then another, anyway, panic ensued. What the hell was going on?
Wait a second, this is a tropical tank, but that water seems kinda warm, so I check the thermometer. It's over 90 F. AARRGGH!
I unplugged my heater did a water change and am hoping that everybody else can recuperate from the poaching.
Anyway time to buy a new heater.
