First a little background. I have a 125g display plumbed to a 55g sump with a 30 clam tank also plumbed to the 55g sump. Last week I received and order of 4 clams a birdsnest coral, a black clown goby, and a green clown goby. I added the gobies to the display and the clams to the clam tank. The black Goby took up residence in the birdsnest and makes the rounds from time to time. The green goby has been mia. Today I turned my clam light on a little early to review my new additions and thought I saw a green fish dart. I figured it was my eyes but upon moving a few rocks I saw Mr. Goby. Which means:
He got sucked into my 1500 gph overflow.
Swam or tumbled down my 5' 1.5 inch down tube.
Made it to the sump and avoided the 500 gph skimmer.
Got sucked up my my 600gph return pump for the clam tank
Made it through 3' of 1/2" tubing
Through what has to be no more than 1/8 inch wide opening on my return spout.
He is still alive!
