PETA roars over U.K. army?s bearskin hats

I haven't even read the article yet and I know already that it's about a bunch of crazy liberals whining about something that only PETA cares about.

We're killing infants and handicapped persons left and right in America and these loosers are whining about papa bear and bambi. Hey folks, deer are for eating, if they weren't, they'd taste like rice cakes. Let's spend our time saving the innocent and cleaning our aquariums.

The army has already replaced beaver hats and leopard skins, worn by some of its soldiers, with artificial materials.
This paragraph brought back a memory back when my older brother got married. I was the best man and because he is the pipe major in a local pipe band, we both wore the highland regalia. So I was looking through their warehouse to pick out some gear and there was a lot of leopard skins tucked away. It turned out that the outfits were donated by the Cameron Highlanders after the Second World War. Some of the gear had bullet holes  Anyway, I didn't wear a leopard skin but they were the fashion a half century ago.

:bowing: Agreed!

Eh I dont disagree with PETA that much on this issue. I think they should be looking for an alternative fabric (though it already seems that they are).

I would think the bigger issue is why canada is killing so many bears a year.

A lot of it has to do with population control. Most of the kills are around northern "population centres", the quotes because they're not populated by more southern standards. In years following hunting moratoriums, there was one in Northen Ontario a number of years ago, bears start wandering into towns and camps when they would normally steer clear.

I personally do not care for deer meat, but agree they should increase the numbers hunted. The numbers are increasing and they are the cause of a large number of acidents and accident related deaths.

I wholeheartedly agree. The percentage of deaths caused by.... oh wait, you're talking about deer. I thought you meant humans. :)
