I have a yellow stripe maroon that is allways in his bta. Got the bta a couple of days ago and the maroon only leaves during feeding time. Will this hurt the bta or the maroon? Anything I should do?

Is the anenome able to come out and feed? The clown is using this time to acclimate to the anenome and develop the same 'odor' as the BTA--once that's accomplished, it will leave it alone more often. As long as the anenome has time to feed, and comes out regularly, no signs of damage, I wouldn't worry much about the clowns attention.

What lighting do you have?

what are the size comparisons between the anemone and the fish, my two marron clowns acted this way to two different anemones which eneded up killing them both (LTA, RBTA).

I have a 130 w PC. The bta is fairly large, about 3-4 x the size of the juvenile yellow stripe

You shouldn't have many issues. Just make sure you direct feed the anem every other day or so. It will run the clown out as it eats,"it won't like it but, it'll live." How long has your tank been set up what kind of set up do you have lights l.r. etc?
Welcome to A.C.!

It's been about 5 days and the clown still won't leave the anenome alone. The anenome has now receeded it's tentacles and the clown is still trying to be near him. Should I quarantine the clown?

Probably, get a strawberry basket and put it over the anem. Maroons can be really agressive and they sometimes will strave/love/bother an anem to death. I think in the wild they usually host in large anems like carpets ," please don't buy one you probably won't have much luck." I'm afraid that this might well be one of those situations. The best course of action would be to remove the clown from the tank and start a reqular feeding regamin for your anem. Please tell us a bit more about your tank though? How old is it? what is your substrate? readings,ph,s.q. nitrates etc.
thanks

I gave this a bit more thought after this post . It might also be environmental conditions in your tank.

maroons will host with a carpet anemone? has this happened in the home?

Sure, w.m. they are as likely to host a carpet as they are most other anems. Keep in mind most of em haven't seen an anem in their lives anyway. I've been debating getting a carpet here as of late but, still not sure.

they are beautiful, IMO they are the "best looking" anemones you can get, I dont think my 65 will be big enough for one, but I know it would like 500watts in MH's and all the current, but I dont think my fish would like it then haha.

nope, but it sure would like your fish! You might be able to manage but, it would be pretty mcuh all you could keep in the tank. There would also be a fair chance that you'd have to upgrade to a bigger tank to.
