i dont remember do all of the african species like a sandy bottom?? bcause thats gonna be my bottom for my 75g thanx

in general, yes...but some like more rockwork than others...the majority of mbuna like lot's of rocks...on a sandy bottom. 
ok because i was gonna build big rock formations and have a sand bottom and thats all i needed thanx for the help
African cichlid isn't a species. If you can be more specific and tell us exactly what species it is, we can provide you with much better info. For all we know you have a few Kribs, or maybe a couple Jewels, possibly a Frontosa, or some Alunocara species.
BTW you better check your state fish and game laws, in most states its illegal to keep native fish in an aquarium without a permit, so removing those "walleye minnows" from the post might be a wise thing. You never know who's lookin on this site.
