I have 3 bengaii cardinals and they are going into a reef tank w/ a longspine urchin and 2 fuzzy dwarf lions about 1" each. Ik the problem of the lions maybe eating them but this simply isnt true. The cardinals are 2" each and i have had much experience and success w/ fuzzy dwarfs, if they are raised w/ a fish or invert and are on only frozen food they never touch it. I had a 4" fuzzy dwarf live w/ a bunch of cleaner shrimp. My problem is, the lions are pigs and the cardinals are wary about eating, they are in a QT tank for now learning how to eat, but when they go to the regular tank how do i feed them w/o feeding the lions which i only feed twice a week. when the cardinals would be fed everyother day.

They'll eat smaller particles of food than the lions for one thing. If you feed something like cyclopese, mysis etc they are fast enough to get some if your tank is large enough. What sort of lighting do you have ? They'll get really active under the acintics ,"or my pajamas do anyway", and won't be so shy. Also if you give them pleanty of cover that will help to.
I'll take your word for it on the lions but, let me say my cardinals seem to grow a whole lot slower than lions.

yea i agree, lions grow fast, but the point is, lions are one of the smartest most personalble fish i know and im my experience you can grow them up with most anything and they just see it as another friend. but that isnt the point
my lions eaat mysis too, they eat pretty much anything small enough that comes out of their turkey baster. I have 220 watts od pc lighting, it is 50/50, maybe i should go with more antinic light and see how that works. Thanks for the segestions
