I have a 55 gal tank that I would like to set up for a salt water environment. I have never had any experience with salt water I've only read books. Does anyone have good advice for a beginer? Any and all information would be appreciated.
thanks to all!

The best things to do it..

Decide what you would like to keep... and then post what you want.. and then we can post what would do the best and what would be the best for you ..

the one thing that you dont want to do .. is go into your LFS with out knowing what you want.. becouse if you do.. then they are going to sell you stuff that they say is great, and you will regret..
If you get suggestions one to buy from LFS, come here and post it.. and we can let you konw if its the best, or if there is somthing better.

the one thing you will find.. is to buy the biggest and best you can afford.. as you will allways endup upgrading.. and its allways best to buy things only once.. :)

Ha, when I was at a lfs today I heard a customer asking the supposed SW "expert" how to cycle his new 125gal SW tank. It sounded like the customer had some FW experience because he at least knew about cycling a tank. What amazed me was when the "expert" told him to buy 10 - 15 damsels to cycle the tank. This is one reason why your better off learning the SW basics from a board like this and books.
