Ok... so I went to my LFS, and they have 2 fish I've been wanting for a long time and cheaper than I seen before in store.... one is a hippo tang and the other a baby trigger clown...they are currently both in the same tank in the store and neither seems to bother the other. I currently have a yellow tang and a half black angel. I looked on drs foster & smith and their Compatibility Chart says with caution...
I have a 37 gal tank with about 45lbs of LR... I also plan on starting up a 125 in the next few month so they could have a bigger given some time.
anyhow... if anyone has any advise or suggestions please let me know before I do something i could regret later.

Your tank is WAY too small for the tang you have now so I sure wouldn't add another. You need at least a 50 gal for the Hippo, 75 for the yellow. the reason they say caution on the trigger is that it will eat your shrimp, lobster, crabs and probably the snails to.
hth and I wouldn't buy if I were you. Might see if they'll let you trade in the tang though.

I too wouldn't buy, especially the baby Clown. They require a TON of work. First if it is way cheap (under 50) be cautious that it may have been caught via Cyanide. Second be prepared to feed them AT LEAST 3 times a day in order to keep them alive. They have a VERY high caloric need and need to be fed a lot. I would wait on both fish till you get your new tank set up then add them. A yellow would destroy a blue in such a small tank. I say a 125 is min for the Hippo, they get much bigger than Yellows. Anyway, hope this helps and good luck!

Also be aware that should that cute clown trigger survive, it will get to more than 15 inches in length, and bulky...And they have the worst reputation for flipping out overnight and killing everything in the tank. I wouldn't put one in anything smaller than 180.
