Okay i got a small CB and he hides all the time only coming out for a quick bite of food. Is this normal? He is the only fish in the tank, parameters are :
ammo. 0
nitrite 0
nitrate less than 5
temp 78
pH 8.3
salinity 1.023
alk 11°dkh
photoperiod 10 hrs.
oh yeah he,s been in there like a week does he just need more time?

Give it time. Especially given that there are no other fish in the tank that are comfortable with your presence, it's going to take any new fish a while to adjust to the idea of not running away when your (comparatively) gigantic head is staring right at it. :D

I also have a small yellow tang that i moved to the sump, Do you think I should try to put him back in the main tank? I was just afraid that 29g was not enough space for the two. The tang is not afraid of anything and is very active i wonder if he might coax him out or just give him a hard time? Thanks for your input, you guys are very helpful ( and tolerant)

I personally wouldn't put a tang into a 29g under any circumstances due to cramping. I would also expect it to fight a bit with the angel, which definitely wouldn't help to get it out in the open. Look for some smaller, bolder, free-swimming tankmates, like a clownfish or a more passive dottyback species to help set an "example" for the angelfish.

I am setting up a 55g as soon as I can get my southdown here.
