i have a neon tetra species tank and i am looking for some sites or books that may go a little further in depth about the species or their natural habitat. All the sites i have found seem to give just the general info and nothing more. Or any info you guys might have that may help me out on my quest for knowledge that seems to be going in circles.

neon tetras (not to be confused with cardinal tetras) are found in the flooded forest (very shallow and dense with branches and leaves) of whitewater rivers (opaque with clay particles, almost impossible to see through and just as hard/impossible to properly imitate in the aquarium. They eat bits of anything including the freshwater equivalent of zooplankton. Plus, the neons you have probably came from a fish farm, so imitating the wild for them wouldn't really make a difference.
