Does anyone have a favorite online supplier of hermit crab shells? The only ones I can find have painted or dyed shells, and I suspect that these are NOT a good idea in a salt water aquarium environment. The blue legs I bought instantly grabbed different shells after I put them in the tank, but the sizes available are almost identical to the ones they came in, so I know I'll be needing to provide bigger ones soon at the rate they are eating!

TIA

Also keep in mind if you have red reef crabs they like an older more broken in shell. Blue legs like fresh new shells.

My LFS has a TON of extra shells that they let me paw through to find bigger shells. Yours might have some too. This way you will only get the ones you know are big enough.

check out a hobby shop like Michaels or Hobby Lobby; Ive even seen them at dept stores like Walmart and Meijers

not painted and Ive had mine in 2 aquariums for months without concern
