Is there a website available that shows different aquariums and their aquascapes?
I am trying to gather ideas and want to glean off of other people's aquariums (freshwater primarily for now) AND online pictures.
It'd be nice if more people would post pictures along WITH the specs of their aquariums on this forum.

Follow the links at www.skepticalaquarist.com Aquascaping/Rocks for several links to the Swedish "Back to Nature" tank backgrounds and various experiments in rockworks.

Yes, as Wetman noted, you can do some nice things with fake rock backgrounds. I have seen some cichlid tank examples where the fake rock on their tank ranged fro a2 to 8 inches in depth - creating some nice, non planted aquascaping.
Feel free to check out my pics in the Tank Pictures link at the bottom of this post. I haven't updated these - so the tank as shown there is very lightly planted - just a few java ferns. In it, you will see just one example of what you can do with driftwood, rocks, and making your own fake rock background (Yes, I have how-to instructions on my website as well).
I will be updating these pics probably in the next week - and I have added more plants - so the look will change a bit
