soon I will be setting up a 20g long that will be planted with medium high light and a clay gravel substrate. From what i have seen with live plants comes snail and I really dont want snails. At first I was thinking that i would like panda cories but than i started thinking about sand control and than I thought maybe kuhli loaches? give me your suggestions. the other fish will be a pair of blue rams that I am going to try and get to breed and that will be the main purpose of the tank and than a small school of something else (cardinals or something of that size)

I agree with Raskol, I would only get the rams if that is the sole purpose of this tank. However, if you are talking about a fish to continuously go through the sand I would suggest the kuhli's or a couple of other dwarf loaches.

sorry sorry sorry, that was a typo... I said sand control and meant snail control. I know you really should just leave them in there alone but others have done it and been succesful so I want to try.

I say get a black tipped columbinah shark it says shark but theere actually a catfish!

I would have to double check, but I think those "sharks" get WAY too big for a 20g tank, and I've never heard of them being very effective snail eaters.

I have heard upside-down catfish will eat snails...they won't get too big for your tank, if you only get like 2. Orrrrrr, maybe you could find some dwarf loaches?
