I currently have two clownfish and was wondering if i added a volitan lionfish would it eat them? The lionfish is about 4 inches and the clowns are about 1 1/2 inches to 2 inches long.

In one word: Yes! Lions (especially Volitans) have huge mouths. Plus I don't know what size tank you have but Volitans grow to 15 inches long. Picture a basketball with fins floating in your tank when adult. They need a minimum of 55-75 when young, 125g+ when adult. Anyway, hope this helps and good luck!

I have to agee, will definantly eat the clowns and pretty much anything it can get in its mouth (even one of your fingers). I'm not sure about what size tank you have but there are several dwarf lionfishes that are good in around 50 gal tanks but your clownfish would probably still be in danger.

I have to agree to all of the above, except the tank size for an adult Volitan.

I have a 14" Volitan in my 200gal. predator tank and in my opinion, it's still too small. He'll soon be moving to his new home of a 340gal. tank.
