:eek: I bought a sailfin mollie at the pet store a few days ago. When I got him home and in the tank, that is when I noticed that his/her left eye was missing. It looked like it was born with just one eye and a dent. I think it is funny, because it keeps bumping into my angle fish. Other than that, it seems to get along swimmingly:D

look at the anal fin, that should tell you if its a male or female!, males have an anal fin that it tucket to the body and the females hace one that is fan like

If it's got a sailfin, it's a male anyway. Females don't have sailfins.

I had a one eyed corry that lived a long and fine life, but you are perfectly within your rights to ask for the fish to be exchanged for one with a full complement of eyes....

there labled as "sailfin" mollies here, even the females, so you never know, and my 4 fry, 2 of them are females with large fins

You don't need to look @ their fins...if there's a male sex organ there, it's male...if not, it's female!!:D
