My chiropracter's office has been having problems in their fishtank with their plecos. They've lost three (at separate times), yet all the other fish are thriving fine. They put a snail in there, and it was doing great, but it appears the other fish may have eaten it. All they have are three giant danios. I haven't had a chance to test their water.

Hey Lila :)
Can you get some more info from them?
How's their maintenance routine? If they're doing the old 'I never change my water, just add more when it evaporates' (sadly common with office tanks I've seen), the tank could have OTS and a really high pH and level of TDS, which might do a pleco in while leaving a few tough-as-nails danios behind.
Also ask them what they're feeding the plecs - many people don't target feed their plecs, and they can starve to death in tanks with little algae - IMO even tanks covered in algae aren't sufficient food sources, plecs need more in their diets.
Check out www.plecofanatics.com too, maybe there's some more information there - better yet, see if they'll join up and post to get help first hand :)
Thanks Blinky, I'll look into all of that.
