the only fish i have in my tank right now is a blue damsel. i have a veggie clip, and was wondering would a blue damsel like to have some veggies in his/her diet. if so, would would be some good veggies

IMO, Can't say that any of my damsels have ever eaten vegies. The tangs I have do eat from my clip very often. You might try it, but make sure you wash the vegi and make sure it doesn't start to decay in the tank. So don't leave it in the tank for a week or something crazy like that. (learned from experience :duh: )

I just picked up a sailfin tang to help with my hair algae problem in my tank. He seems to love picking at the algae all throughout the day. What else would be good to feed the tang? He/she also seems to love the frozen mysis/brine shrimp mix that I feed my other fish as well.

Thanks,

Bradd

My Tangs love seaweed. I don't remember who makes it but there are several other companies that make it. It comes in sheets. Tear off a piece and clip it. I also sometimes give them a small piece of broccoli (sp). I just have to watch to make sure it isn't in the tank to long. (more than a day or two)

Tangs need a variety in their diet. Julian Sea Vegetables are great. They are packaged in green, purple and red seaweed. A mixture of all three is good, although my yellow tang prefers the purple and green seaweed. They also need Nori, which you can buy from any oriental food distributer. They will eat mysis and brine shrimp along with other fish, but their main food staple in the wild is algae and seaweed. My yellow tail damsels would nip at some seaweed, (before they were moved to the 20g tank) but not often. Also, if you happen to have a refugium, you may consider seeding some red gracillira (or however you spell it). It's tang heaven. I usually purchase my seaweed via the internet.

I've had really good experiences with this site.

Thank you all for the information. I am going to check out that site you listed and see what I can do to get some good food for my tang.

Thanks,

Bradd
