Does anyone know of any good sites where you can take a look at aquariums will really nice contrasting colour schemes?
It doesn't necessaryly have to be a site about aquatics...I've been using Google and found a couple decent colour sites.

The main point of me doing this is to bring the colours of my breeding pair of Zebra Convicts.
They stand out somewhat anyway, as their black and white colours are quite pure, however I'm trying to figure out what colour I should have the gravel...and the decorative rocks?

At the moment, I'm thinking light brown gravel, and grey rocks for aquascaping?
I was going to use white gravel, but the Convict's white stripes would blend in.

I want the Convict's colour to really JUMP out at your eyes.
haha.

Thanks for any suggestions.
:)

i dont know of any site about/with that on it but im fairly good with colors.
if you convicts white is rally pure the dark colors will make that stand out and usally really nutral colors will make things stand out (brown, gray, tan,) your gunna want colors that dont really stand out them slevls. if you were to do like a really rich brown with lots of green plants that would also prbly make them stand out. one of the best things to do is get some paper and marker and mess around with colors to see how they look.

Sorry, no site suggestions here either :o , but you could go through the members specs. page on this site and maybe get some ideas

How's your threshold for cheesy-esque aquascaping? Though I'm not a fan myself, blue gravel would probably make your fish 'pop', so to say.

Haha, that's funny.
Ya, blue would most likely help.
Oh god...I don't know if I could do blue though!!

Hmm, I'm going to try to find grey gravel I think. I'll use large rocks for aquascaping that are a little darker than the gravel?

I'll mess around with the colours and see what happens.

Thanks!

Ha, that's what I was thinking as I started reading through the thread, but you beat me to it.

I actually want to try this with my 6g though. Blue gravel with zebra rocks and my 3 black phantom tetras. It could work.

EDIT: BTW RyJ, I was thinking, what if you found a rock with a shade of orange that would accent the orange highlights on the convicts? I have one in my tank that would work, I don't know what kind it is, but it looks like a bunch of flat rocks glued together. Just a thought.
