hi,

Got a pair of Rd male 11" female 9" anway my female beat da crap out of the male about 3 weeks ago. i think there trying to breed. Ive now got a permanent divider btw them for now.

But the male got beat pretty bad when hes resting he is vertical head facing downwards. He also swims awkardly. Hes neally fully healed. however he still remains in that vertical position.

Is this bad for him and should i can i take him to a vet to see if they can fix this problem.

regards

keep them divided and maybe add some aquarium salt to help heal him,i don't think it's a swim bladder problem(it may just be stressed out).

theyve been divided for about a month now and he does flare his gills at her through the divider. However when i cleaned the tank i removed the divider and they were fine for about an hour then she grew confident again and he backed off to the other end of the tank.

How can i stop this mating ritual between them and then she may not be so bad towards him
