Hello All,
This is my very first aquarium. I have a 20H tank, Eclipse 2 hood, with 6 cory cats, three oto cats and about a week ago, I added a pair of Powder Blue Dwarf Gouramis. Well, the male is Powder Blue. The LFS didn't know what type the female was. She's a pale creamy gold with pinkish irridesence, no stripes or markings (any ideas anyone?). Back to my question. For the last few days, the male has been building a bubble nest in the front corner of my tank under some floating leaves. I have a combo of silk and real plants. He's been chasing the female around and she's getting quite round looking. His colors have gotten much more intense and a little darker particularly along the bottom edge of his lower fin. He appears to be enticing the female under his nest but she's, so far as I've seen, resisted. How long does this go on before they'll finally have eggs? I have lots of plants and hiding places. What's the chance some of the babies might survive? Any insight is appreciated!
Thanks!

By ur words, they seem to br doing the spawning courtship behavior they do before spawning.I have to tell u though I dont think there is a good chance the fry will survive cause of the other fish and if u didnt plan on having them spawn, then the parents wernt conditioned properly and would prolly eat the eggs b4 they even hatch

If they DO breed, the female has to go or the male will kill it. Corys and ottos will probably not get to the babies, but they so small it will be hard to feed (they eat infusorium for about a week before baby brine-shrimp). The filter will probably get them before anything else.
