What do you guys think the look and the performance of bubbles I cover my bubble wonds in my tank with substrate to create larger bubbles I think it looks better but is it less performance adding air to the water? this may seen like a stupid question but everything matters in your tank so there for i guess there is no stupid question

i think fine bubbles break up the water's surface better which is where the oxygen exchange happens. but if you have decent filtration the bubbles will just be for looks. so whatever you prefer.

The bubble wands are not absolutly necessary for the tank. They are more cosmetic then anything else. The oxygen is comming into the tank from the gas excahnge cased by breaking the surface water. Yes, the bubbles do that but more than likely your tank has plenty of oxygen. They do look nice though and certainly keep some water moving in the tank which dosent hurt.

As far as looks are concerned I have two air wands in my 55G and I ended up burying them to create the larger bubbles. Its really your choice. I didnt like the look of the wands showing in the back of the tank so I covered them up.

Yeah thats what i feel i have 2 power jets plus my Emperor 400 to break the water surface so no shortage of air in my tank
