This probably wont get to many relplies, but I dont wanna get flamed for posting it in the general marine area so whatever. I am planning on adding a sump/fuge under my 20L reef. Ill have to use an overflow box becuase the tank isnt drilled. So my first question, what kind of overflow box should I get? I dont want it to take up to much space in my tank, but its not that important since its better then ahving all of the other crap in my tank. I have a scan of my design, more like a rough design since i really dont know waht im doing. Unfortunately, my drawing looks like it was done by a 5 year old.
if this works, it will probably be humongous or it will be to hard to read. If its big it kinda has to stay that way becuase otherwise you cant see the drawing.
The light is really 36 watts, i made a mistake. I drew this at one this morning, i couldnt sleep. lol. The skimmer will be a remora or a bakpak, whatever i get it will be added on later after i get this setup for a while. A few questions i have are, how big should i make the area for the skimmer and the heater, were the water comes into the sump? How tall should my baffles be? Im assuming that i should make the compartment for the return pump as small as possible so that there is less water volume, so if my siphon breaks less water can be returned to the tank, right? So about what size should the return compartment be and what type of pump? I am also thinking about using a T to split the return tube one two directions so i can have it shoot into the tank from both sides. Is this a good idea? The tank is going to be a 20H or a 10 gallon, but this plan is for a 20H so pretend thats what it is. Also the skimmer needs to be able to fit on the side of the tank or in the back, i am not sure if there is room for it to fit on the side of the tank yet. there is only about 30 inches of space inside my stand.
I am sure that i am missing a lot of stuff, so any help is greatly appreciated. Please try and keep it simple when you explain it beucase I really am not to sure what im doing. Also, pardon any spelling, and just the horrible format of my sentences and the post in general. I suck at making posts haha.
