Hi,

Based on your PM, I am not sure whether you have a reactor already or not.

You don't need a reactor to have corals, but it can make life easier. What kind of corals do you want to keep? With soft corals you can probably get by with regular water changes, and maybe a supplement like ESV B-Ionic.

Keep in mind that you will need to supplement alkalinity as well as calcium, because corals and coralline algae consume calcium and carbonate in equal amounts.

If you are keeping stony corals, you will be needing to add a good bit more calcium, and monitor it a bit more carefully. Calcium hydroxide (aka kalkwasser) is a cheap alternative to liquid additives.

This is one of my favorite articles about how to keep ca and alkalinity where you want them: http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/feb2003/chem.htm
