Ok I scored a canopy for my 65g planted tank.
Even better it has a icecap 660 installed with 4x95w vho's
I changed the two atinics out for a pair of standard 30w no flo's and kept the one 50/50 VHO bulb and the one 10,000k VHO bulb in place.
I know the 30w no flo's should be peaking more light than they were with standard balist.
So I have 250w of light on my 65g
Tank specs 3"+ of 100% flourite
Ph 6.8 RO/tap mix
temp 85 deg
nitrates between 5ppm and 10ppm
co2 yeast reactors (not enough)
Planted heavy
By weekly 40% water changes
Ferts I use plant tabs under the plants once every few months and a few in the colum once a week and also fourish weekly.

What will happen here with the major light upgrade dont want a huge algae bloom.

this is a old pic with the 120w of no flo lighting

With that much light you better have CO2 and nutrients. If you do not you WILL have an algae blooom.

You do not need 50/50 for a FW tank.

Agreed. If you could lower the temperature a bit it might help as well. From personal experience (so take this with a grain of salt) I've found that 85F is definitely an upper limit of most of my plants. Around 75-80 they grow very well and fast, but seem to slow down in the warmer temps.

You'll definitely need to up CO2 and look into individual ferts. Check out www.gregwatson.com

I dont think its a true 50/50 its a URI aquasun 3 bulb just has lots of blue.
I have had great luck useing 50/50 bulbs in the past on plant tanks.

Anyone have a have any exp with vho bulbs.
I can order URI brand bulbs for around $35 each from work or can just buy coralife VHO bulbs from big als for around $25 shipped.

my temp is high now for breeding will drop it to 80-81 in a week or so.
Got to let the dorsigeris spawn again.
Also most my fish are warm/soft water SA stuff so the temps are perfect for them.
