Can I put one, maybe more, yellow labs inside a 10 gallon? If they ever outgrow the tank, I have a 20 gallon long tank, and a 30 gallon I can move them to. If I can, I'll be getting 1 inch ones. So how many can I get?
Except for fry, a 10 is too small for yellow labs. You could put a quartet in a 30 long, but anything smaller is really not good for african cichlids. Sorry... but these are fish that don't do well in small tanks.
The fish will grow fast even when they are that small.
I'd say you'd be transferring them in a couple months very easily.
I had a trio of them in a 10G, and I got my 60G just to keep them happy.
Yeah, putting them in the 30G would be a better idea if you could do it now.
The ideal ratio is 3F to 1M, but with them being that small, it might be a little hard to sex them.
