Newbie to corals plz help

AFAIK Elegance aren't easy to keep, and from what I've seen at work torch corals can get huge - maybe not a great choice for a nano. If by 'daisy coral' you mean alveopora or gonis, forget it - very few people manage to keep them healthy for long. I got suckered in and bought an alveopora frag on impulse (never do that!) and ended up nearly killing it. I gave it away to someone with an established tank and so far it's doing well.

As far as keeping an anemone, clowns don't need one (they'll host any number of other things) and they can be tough to keep - I'd wait until your tank is at least six months old and you're more experienced before trying it, JMO.

I f you are just starting out, mushrooms and polyps are your best bet,with lots of variety and very hardy. Here is another excellent site - http://www.nano-reef.com/ - great info. for when i started my reef 3 and a half years ago. As far as anemones go, your clown DOES NOT need one - for the most part, they are difficult to keep, and studies have shown that their survival rate is poor, even for experienced aquarists. Plus, they can damage corals, particularly in a small tank. Visit this and other coral sites for lots of info. and enjoy! My 25 gallon nanoreef is my favorite tank!

I'm not sure what you mean. Octocoral is the generic term for soft corals, because they have eight tentacles on the polyps. Is there a specific coral you mean?
