I have some artificial plants in my 30 gallon aquarium and a couple of them are getting black/copper spots on them. All of my fish are doing fine. Is this a result of my water conditions?

I would appreciate any insight.

It's just algae. You can wash it off.

You could also pick yourself up a few otocinclus...they love that stuff. Odds are if you're getting it on your plants, you'll be getting it on your gravel...and I don't think you'll want to be washing that.
