hi there this is my first time on and i thought i start by asking a question i currently own a 55 gallon tank with 1 lima shovelnose cat who is 6inches long and 1 royal pl*co who is about 6 inches too. Am i done with adding fish or maybe not? Sorry if im being any hassle thanks.

Well, you will eventually need to upgrade anyways because the lima will grow quite large quite fast. You'll be looking to upgrade to something at least 18" wide, 2' wide is better, because the lima will not only reach at least 15" (some contest 18-24") in length, but will need the extra space for its feelers.

And the royal, although it grows slow, hits at least 18" and will contribute a lot to the bioload.

If you aren't looking to upgrade (which would eventually be very detrimental to your fishes health) then i would not add anymore fish. As a growout tank, you could add a couple other fish depending on what you'll be putting them in in the end and compatibility

As already stated your tank is minimal, for the Lima alone.
I fully agree with the tank dimensions outlined by Spartan, as these cats are known tank busters.
These cats have long barbels and if they get them caught or don't have freeplay then they have been known to panic and thrash about or dash blindly towards the opposite end of the tank, with disastorous results.
They can break your tank and hurt/kill themselves.
As that Lima shovelnose grows it will eat anything it can fit in its mouth, and you be surprised what can it fit  . Anything large enough to live with the Lima would be too large to be a tankmate in its current tank.
With the size and waste output of the Royal combined with the Lima, and your desire to add another fish I would suggest nothing less than a 150gal, prefferably a 180gal so as to get the most length and width (standard 180 72"L X 24"W X 24"H).
