I am planning for a anemone , clown 135 gallon tank.Being new to this hobby i would like to know which will be the best anemone to start with.Is it possible to keep different varieties of clown fish in the same tank and which varieties will be the ideal tankmates in such a setup. Please advice me about the basic equipment that i will need to start such a setup.Iam planning for the Eheim 2217 cannister , a trickle filter and a protein skimmer from Red Sea.

None. A beginner should never have an anemone, they are very difficult to care for, if the anemone dies it might kill everything in your tank (well maybe not in a 135gal tank, but it's possible) You also need a well established tank for it. So don't even think about getting an anemone until you have a lot of experience with SW tanks (about 2 years). The anemones that you want are photosynthetic, which means you need a good lighting sytem, and for you tank that means a system that costs around $500-600 (the lowest).
About mixing clowns, you shouldn't, they will become aggressive to each other. If you want a pair you should buy a mated pair, or buy them very young and introduce them at the same time so they will pair.
Good Luck

Yep. I think most people can vouch that anenomes are not hardy critters, and new tanks are lethal for them. With enough research and effort, you can learn to care for them, but it will still be hit or miss, and, regretfully, a tank full of clowns just won't work. The larger species are all too aggressive for more than a pair, though you could try it with smaller species that typically live in colonies with one female, one male, and a harem of undifferentiated fish. Still no gaurantees.

Further--clowns do not need anenomes to be quiet healthy and happy.

Thanks for the advice.Regarding the lighting i am planning for actinic tubelights and a metal hallide (10000k).If i don't go for the anemones then what should be the ideal tank mates .i am planning for 4-5 species in my tank.

i have a 135 gallon tank myself. it has been running for 14-16 months with very little trouble as far as compatability goes. the contents of the tank are.
1 sailfin tang
1 regal tang
2 percula/oscelleris clowns(dont even remember which they are now)
1 algae blenny
1 flame angel
1 clam
2 cleaner shrimp
2 porcelain crabs
bunch of snails and hermits
about 200lbs of live rock
various easy to care for corals

i might just be lucky, but nothing in this tank has been a compatability problem in the space provided. now my sailfin tang likes to take a swat at me every now and then when im messing around in the tank, but so far there has been very little disturbance between the fish.

i wish i have seen this befor i got my anemone it is hard to know what is going on is it doing ok or not it looks good for now so maybe i iget lucky im new first SW tank and im starting with the hard stuff right off the bat lol if only i would have know
