Sometime before the start of 2006 I will be coming into possesion of a 10 gallon tank, and I would like to keep a couple of red tailed sharks in it. I would like to do the research before I make the decision whether or whether not to get them. I need to know just about everything. What kind of food, are they good pets, how many, special tank requirements etc. etc. I have kept goldfish before, and my father has kept a salt water tank. I would greatly appreciate any help I could get.

A 10 gallon is too small for a single red tail shark. You could only keep one to an aquarium as they are agressive towards their own kind, and two in the same tank will fight.

A 10 gal is WAY TOO SMALL for a rtbs. I have one in a 29 gal and he probably should have even more space to swim.

As they mature, they get more aggressive and territorial. In my experience, they don't make good community tank fish.

NEVER keep more than one rtbs in a tank. They aren't friendly with their own kind.
