amihello all,i have a 30 g. tank with 12 mollies and two gouramis.i would like to get a algae eater.the tank has been up and running around 2 months.what kind would you get(algae eater).also would it be ok to add a couple ghost shrimp?thank you

I would get otos. I have had a lot of success with them in my tank. They do a good job of keeping the brown algae gone. Just remember to supplement any algae eater with algae wafers and vegetables.

bushy nose... alothough the big ones are alot of money.... 29$!

Wow there are so many different kinds of algae eaters to chose from. I have heard awesome things about ottos. I would go with those. I've heard good things about the bristenosed plecos too, though I don't think they are very cute. I had a rubbermouth pleco and I think the algae ate him! lol I have a clown pleco now and he is pretty cool. Royal plecos are very cool, but expensive. Stay away from the Chinese algae eaters. When they mature they get aggressive with other fish.
