I just bought a 55g acrylic tank for cheap, but it has a lot of scratches in it from the two turtles that used to live in it. Does anyone have ideas on how to cheaply remove the scratches? I was looking at an aquarium kit by Micro-Surface for $15(https://www.micro-surface.com/default.cfm?page_id=90&id=3kaqk&storeid=1).
Does anyone have any experience with this product? Are there other products that may be better? There's a lot of info out there, but most of it is not very useful.
Thanks for the help.

I went through this with my acrylic 55. The first kit I bought was the Rainbow Lifeguard Scratch Removal Kit *photo* (http://www.aquariumpros.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/RBSCRKITX.jpg). It's similar to the kit you're looking at - basically 'wet' sandpaper, a stiff sponge, and polishing compound. This kit worked well for removing the deeper scratches, but the final result wasn't good enough. To remove the super-fine scratches, I bought the Tru-Vu scratch removal kit. It worked very well. I don't have a photo of the Tru-Vu kit but it came with two different polishing compounds, spray acrylic polish, and some nice lint free cloths.

Nippon in SF usually has a couple of different scratch kits for sale. Not sure what your store selection is like down there on the peninsula these days.
