THere's one lonely male apisto Agassizi (i think he's male, colorfull and spikey fin, but no female in tank to compare him to) at my LFS, and has been there for 3 weeks now.
Poor guy is housed with a bunch of bolivian rams and florida flagfish. He's in there with like 25 other fish twice his size. He's hiding most of the time but comes out when you approach the tank very close. He seems healthy and inquisitive. I feel sorry for him there.
I have a well planted 55 gallon, sandy bottom tank with malaysian driftwood arranged to form a couple of caves. There are a pair of angelfish, 9 white clouds, 2 zebra otos, and 1 yellow king tiger pleco L333.
I was looking for a pair of checkerboard cichlids as my final tank fish but should I get the Agassi instead? How would his temperment be alone in the tank. I do not want to disturb the tank because right now it is almost too perfect.
conditions:
ph 6.6
ammonia, nitrites, nitrates all 0
tank is about 8 weeks old now.
