I recently added more plastic plants to my 180 giving it a more finished look. I plan on adding another large piece of driftwood, and it will be finished. Of course, the aquascape might change in the future, so I guess my tanks are never really "finished". Here is a series of photos that represents the progression of my 180g "Big Community" over the past 6 months.

This is what it looked like on day 1 about 6 months ago:

The short story is that I needed to upgrade faster than I planned, so I seeded it and prayed for the best. All the fish survived the cycle, but I eventually changed my mind on the stocklist, so I no longer have these fish:

Not my best work, lol I was so disappointed with it. This didn't look anything like what I envisioned:

What it looks like today after the new plants and new caves. This is how I imagined it, when I first bought it. It looks soooo much better in person:

As always, any comments or criticism is appreciated.

Your tank looks great. I do have a question though. I see that you have oscars. When I had mine, I never could have any decorations. I did have two in a 55 gallon which i had to give them away to a friend that has a 125. He had to take out all of his decorations too. They attack anything in there or injure themselves on any large rocks or drift wood. He even had to take out his gravel. They started picking up the gravel and shooting it out of their mouths and he was scared they were gonna bust the glass out. Very funny. But potentially destructive. Just wondeting if you have had any of these issues. And maybe a warning of what might be to come when the get larger and bored.

Thanks for your compliment and your concern.

I don't have those large oscars anymore. But I do still have Oscars (I just bought two babies yesterday). When I had my larger Oscars (around 8") they never showed any interest in the plants or injuring themselves on the driftwood. Of course, I always keep an eye out for any potentially hazardous activity, but for now they're fine.

How bout a nice background SoCal ? One that's just one color like black or one of the deep blue colored ones. It could make everything stand out much better without the wires and filters in back messing up the view.

Nice tank ! :)
