Anyone ever had a problem between a Long Nose Hawkfish and a skunk cleaner shrimp??

I recently added a cleaner shrimp only slightly smaller than the hawkfish which I already had. The fish immediately went after the shrimp! Anyone had this problem? I was told that if the shrimp was about the same size as the fish it would be ok.

Am I getting ready to feed my fish an expensive meal??

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

My sally lightfoot is showing some interest in the shrimp too. I haven't read anything about shrimp cleaning other crustaceans, has anyone heard of this? Maybe the sally is just looking for a quick meal as he is quite large.

I was under the impression the sally was strictly a detritous/algae eater.

Hawkfish, no matter the species, are notorious for eating inverts...especially shrimp.

The LFS gave you bad advice.
