I'm getting a new tank on the weekend and I'm going to be putting in 3 silver scats, 2 monos, and a GSP (which I already have had for 7 months). I was wondering if cycling the tank with some sailfin mollies (aprox. 4-5) would be wise or not. Should I use them to cycle or just stick to the fishless cycle?

I've nixed the idea of getting the scats and monos (due to the fact I suddenly cannot afford a 100+ gal tank). but my puffer is going to be getting his very own 60 gal. What else could I put in with him, I've got access to waspfish, archer fish, mollys, and bumblebee gobys

How about a couple more GSPs & a few BB gobies?

I don't know about GSPs I think I got pretty lucky having such a docile specimen. I'm trying to find some more archer fish, I saw 3 in a shop a few weeks ago, I'm hoping they're still there.

Your puffer may pick on the archer. I have 2 (5") GSPs, a Ceylon (3") & 6 BB gobys in a 50gal. They all get along great!

Sure, as soon as I get my feiend w/a digital camera over here. I bought them at 2" about 9-10 months ago. They live in 1.016-19 SG. I think the high BW has something to do w/their growth rate.

I've just got the tank and it's cycling right now, I spotted a figure eight at my lfs and I wanted to know if GSP and figure eights can co-exist. also how many tablespoons of seachem brackish salt should I use for a 48 gal?
