The Syrinx aruanus, also called the Giant Whelk or Trumpet Conch. Its a large preditory snail that can have a shell length over 39"


Havent heard of anyone having one in captivity before.

never seen one, but i would think a snail that gets that big would be able to topple some pretty good sized rocks.

My goodness, that snail gets larger than my entire tank! Definitely something that belongs in a HUGE public aquarium or the ocean.

This is an average size shell of a Trumpet Conch, the largest recorded was 39" (also happens to be the worlds largest snail), they live off the coast of Australia in shallow water and inter-tidal areas.


A 21-22" Trumpet Conch shell can sell for $200-250 alone
