Noisy AC500

My AC500 makes a lot of noise that it didn't make when I first got it a year ago. The sound is coming from the filter motor. I cleaned it out but it still makes lots of noise. Do I need to replace parts or is there some modification I can make to the rudder or motor?

Check to see if there is anything in the impeller. Then if you still have the noise replace the shaft an 2 rubber holders. Good luck

Does the impeller clip on the magnet shaft on 500's like it does on 200&300's? The impeller "shaft" that extends below the impeller "fan" is actually split in 2. If you pry this apart GENTLY, the impeller will pop off the magnet. Possibly there is something wedge in there making it off balance? I don't have a 500 yet so I can't say for sure.

Try replacing the impeller shaft. My AC500 was noisy as well. I called Hagen, described the problem, they suggested the shaft might be worn and sent me a new one for free. The old shaft was obviously worn, and the filter became quiet again when it was replaced.
