I have a 3 month old fully cycled 120g tank. I have some java moss spread out on some rocks, the tips of the java moss are starting to grow some small white cottony growth. The moss is green and growing my lights are 1.5 wpg on for 10-11 hrs. What is it and what should I do?

Is it growing on wood of sometype? It could be a type of mold I believe.
I saw some white stringy stuff growing on mopani driftwood in a bucket. I scraped it off well and didn't see any in my tank.
Good article on algae (http://www.plantgeek.net/article_viewer.php?id=9)
I recently aquaried some java moss as well and it's doing the same thing. I really don't think it's mold however. Mold usually has a gummy consistancy, or like the top of a squid...yuck, or it's slimy. What we are seeing on our java moss though looks like perhaps the parts where they were cut, at the tips. I was thinking perhaps it's doing one of two things, either dying off or regrowing and this is just the first sign of new growth.
I second this question. I'd like to know for sure what it is.

My java is growing and looks really healthy it almost looks like tiny white hairs about 1/8" long. This is not growing anywhere else in the tank except on the tips of some of the java moss.
